Ben Hoffhine - Director of Golf

Ben Hoffhine began his professional career at Westchester Country Club in 1998, and now returns in 2017 as Director of Golf. Prior to joining the staff at Westchester, Ben was the Head Professional at Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, NY for 13 years.

Some of Ben’s career highlights have occurred at Westchester, playing in the 2003 PGA Tour’s Buick Classic on the West Course and winning the 2007 Hoffhine Memorial with a team from Wykagyl. Ben has a strong background in playing, teaching, player development, and golf operations.

In 2017, Hoffhine was awarded the Metropolitan PGA’s Player Development Award and has previously been recognized as an award winning club fitter.

Ben resides in Connecticut with his wife, Zed, and their three children (James 6, Zara, 4 and Charlie, 1).


Gary Weir - Director of Instruction



Gary is a AA Class member of the PGA. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and has been at Westchester since 2001. He was a former Head Professional at Elderslie Golf Club and a former Director of Golf at Braid Hills in Edinburgh. A former winner of the National Assistants Championship, Gary has played on the European, Asian and African Tours. His students have included previous winners on the PGA European Tour, Asian Tour, Safari Tour and the LPGA. 

His students have gone on to win such events as The British Amateur, The Women's Met Open and The Women's New York State Amateur. He has also taught juniors who have won on both the AJGA and IJT Tours. 



Gary and his wife, Laura, live in Irvington, NY.


Harvey Lannak - Head Golf Professional 



Harvey is a Class A member of the PGA of America and has been since 1973. He has been a head golf professional since 1977. Harvey developed several All-American collegiate players and played golf collegiately at the University of Miami. He served on the MET PGA Board of Directors for eight years, chairing both the Communications and Membership Committees. In 1992, Harvey was selected as Suffolk County Golf Coaches Association’s Man of the Year. 

In 2004 and 2005, he was selected as one of America’s top fifty junior golf instructors. In 2010, Harvey was selected as the MET PGA Teacher of the Year. Additionally, he was selected as the US Kids Master Junior Instructor for 2011. 



Harvey resides in Rye, NY and has two daughters, Christine and Sandy and 6 grandchildren.




Danny Balin - PGA

Danny Balin is a PGA Tour Playing Professional who has played full-time on the PGA Tour Latin America and PGA Tour Canada for the last four years. Additionally, he has worked as a Junior Golf Instructor and Teaching Professional at Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich, CT for the last ten years. A few of his many accomplishments include:
  • 2015 Guatemala Open Champion, PGA Tour Latin America
  • 2012 Met Open Champion 
  • Met Section PGA Player of the Year, 2010-2012 
  • New York State Open Champion 2012, 2013 
  • Westchester Open Champion 2010, 2015 
  • PGA Championship Qualifier, 2010-2013

Danny is a PGA Class A Golf Professional and has studied under Top 50 Golf Instructor Michael Breed, renowned Metropolitan Teacher and Player of the year Bobby Heins, Top 100 Golf Instructor Carl Alexander, and Metropolitan Professional Mike Diffley.





Paul Selvaggio - PGA

Paul comes from Wykagyl Country Club, where he excelled in his two biggest passions, teaching and competing. Paul attended Iona College on a four year golf scholarship and graduated in 2006 with a business degree. A few of his many accomplishments include:
  • 2001 LIGA Match Play Champion
  • Two Division 1 Collegiate Victories - The McLaughlin and 
McDonald Cup
  • Four Victories on the Met PGA Assistants Tour
  • Three-time qualifier, PGA National Assistants Professional 
Championship (2013-15)
  • 2016 Pro Assistant Champion (partner Ben Hoffhine)
  • 2014 Farley Cup Team Member
  • 2013 U.S Open Sectional Qualifier
  • Many top finishes in local/section championships

Paul is a PGA member, LPGA Teaching Her certified coach, U.S Kids certified coach, and very experienced with club fitting and the latest technology.
Sarah Stone - PGA

 
Sarah Stone is an accomplished teaching professional and Met Section competitor who began her career at Westchester Country Club fifteen years ago. Last year, she was the Director of Instruction at The Creek Club in Locust Valley, NY and is currently spending the winter season teaching at The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, FL. A few of her many accomplishments include:

  • 2013 Women’s Player of the Year, Met Section
  • Met Section Assistants Board Member
  • Met Section Educational and Tournament Committee Member
  • Speaker, How to Grow a Lesson Book, 2016 Met Section Fall Seminar Series
  • Instructor at Emerald Dunes (West Palm Beach, FL), The Everglades Club (Palm Beach, FL), John Webster Golf Academy - The Breakers (Palm Beach, FL)
  • Former Professional Staff Member at Woodway CC (Darien, CT), Trump National Westchester (Briarcliff Manor, NY), Shinnecock Hills (Southampton, NY)

Sarah is a Class A member of the PGA. She is a passionate about instruction and spends much of her down time studying the golf swing and observing other top instructors to hone her craft.




Ian Orr - PGA



Ian started his career at Westchester Country Club in 2008 and worked the last two seasons at Country Club of Darien. During his seven years at WCC, Ian emerged as a leader of his peers through his passion of the game. His accomplishments include: 

  • 2016 Met PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the year
  • 2016 Squire Cup Team
  • 2013 Remax World Long Drive Regional Finalist
  • Two-time US Kids Top 50 Teacher, honorable mention
  • Multiple Top finishes in Met Section Events
  • Met PGA Assistants Board Tournament Committee Member
  • Met PGA HOPE Volunteer 



Ian is PGA member and PGA certified in Teaching and Coaching.

He is currently working towards his Master Professional status. He is also TPI certified, US Kids certified, and Trackman certified.




Brain Fallon- PGA

Brian is currently in his sixth season working at Westchester Country Club.

He is a Senior Golf Professional who gained his PGA status in 2014 and was recently named one of the US KIDS Top 50 Kids Instructors in the country.

Brian is focused on teaching, playing, club fitting, working together with the staff to attend to the Membership needs.
Brian is originally from Long Island, NY, and now lives in Rye.
